Imagine –– no more waxing, no more shaving. Laser hair removal is today’s best solution for removing unwanted hair. In fact, laser hair removal is the #1 non-invasive aesthetics treatment available today with an estimated growth rate of 18%. While there are many methods to eliminate unwanted hair, very few can eliminate hair regrowth while leaving the surrounding skin undamaged.

At Elysium Aesthetics and Vein Care, we use the Harmony XL and Soprano ICE lasers by Alma. These lasers are the next generation of laser hair removal. They provide an effective and permanent hair removal solution that is both simple and easy. They take cutting-edge medical laser technology and combine it with the comfort and convenience of a trip to the spa. In fact, Soprano ICE Laser uses new, breakthrough technology that has been described as one of the most comfortable laser hair removal options available.

Who It’s For

Harmony XL and Soprano ICE Lasers are for everyone. Skin is assessed on the Fitzpatrick scale. It ranges from the lightest (1) to the darkest (6) of skin color. Traditionally, you were assigned to a specific laser (Yag or Alexandrite) based on the color of your skin. However, the Alma lasers are safe to use on ALL skin types. That means, even if you are light in the winter and tan in the summer, you can still safely enjoy laser hair removal! And best of all the treatment process is permanent, predictable, and virtually pain-free. Why waste your time and money buying razors and shaving cream for your ENTIRE LIFE when you can get rid of hair MUCH sooner? Both men and women seek treatment for almost any body part, including legs, arms, backs, stomachs, face or neck.

What You Can Expect

You can expect results from a series of relatively short sessions. In fact, many clients see results after the first session. However, the actual time depends mainly on the size of the area you are having treated as well as the hair that is being treated. Course, dark hair, traditionally responds best to treatment. Traditionally, light or gray hair was excluded from treatment because the laser works by targeting the pigment in the hair follicle. The Soprano ICE can be used with a gel that is applied prior to treatment to help darken the hair follicle which aids the laser in targeting the follicle and shutting it down.

A trained doctor, nurse or laser technician performs each treatment and you are free to return to normal activities immediately after each session. There is no down time following your laser session.

About the Lasers

The Soprano ICE Laser uses the most successful photoepilation wavelength (810 nm), which makes it the platinum standard for laser hair removal. In addition, a patented DualChill™ mechanism ensures the surface of your skin stays cool and even more comfortable throughout your treatment.

The Harmony XL offers a large spot size (6.4cm) which allows for quick treatments while eliminating the chance that any areas are missed. It’s cooling tip in combination with the patented “in-motion™” technology guarantee you a comfortable, hair removal experience.

Both lasers are virtually pain-free. Often, clients have seen trials of laser hair removal on popular television shows and are under the impression that in order to be hair free, they may need to endure a little discomfort. These shows have even suggested that patients request a numbing cream to make their experience more comfortable. However, most people find the Alma line of lasers to be very comfortable. While pain tolerance is subjective, many patients often describe the sensation as soothing as a “hot stone massage.”  Individual perception may vary.

How It Works

The lasers work by using pulses of infrared diode laser energy to gradually heat the hair follicles in the subdermal layer of skin until they can no longer produce new hair. Using unique, IN-Motion™ technology and a patented DualChill™ treatment tip, the surface of your skin stays cool and comfortable. The sweeping motion also eliminates any skipped or missed spots common to other types of laser hair removal.
