EmSculpt- The New Way to Sculpt

Thank you for checking out this blog.

We are very excited to have BTL's Emsculpt at Elysium Aesthetics and Vein Care.  Emsculpt is a complete game changer in body contouring.  Up until now, body sculpting has been limited to fat removal/destruction through surgery ( liposuction, laser lipo, Vaser, RF lipo) or using non-invasive options like Sculpsure or Coosculpt.  While these procedure are effective in reducing the amount of fat you have, they do nothing for the underlying muscles.

Similary, fat transfer is increasingly being used to create contour and butt lift.  These results have been marred with the recent increase in fat embolisms resulting in death and infections.

So how is EmSculpt different?  Is it just another gimicky sculpting machine?  These are all good questions.

First,  a little about EmSculpt.  EmSculpt uses HIFEM technology.  HIFEM stands for High Intensity Focused ElectroMagnetic energy.  It is what causes supramaximal contractions of the muscles of abdomen or butt.  This level contraction can not be achieved through crunches or squats.  In fact, 30 minutes on the EmSculpt equals 20,000 crunches or squats. It is the only FDA cleared device approved for building muscle mass and fat destruction.

Second, Emsculpt helps with fat reduction.  In 7 studies conducted by BTL, about 200 patients were treated.  They saw an average of 19% fat reduction.  In case you were wondering, muscle mass increase averaged 16%.   There was also a reduction in waist line.  These results were measured by ultrasound, Cat Scan, and MRI studies.

Third,  Emsculpt reduces the separation of the abdominal muscle, called diastasis recti.  Diastasis recti is a gap that forms in the midline of the abdomen.  It can occur in both men and women.  Women are more likely to have seperation after age 35.  Diastasis recti causes an unsightly bulge in the middle of the belly as the inner abdominal pressure is forced forward.  By reducing the seperation, EMSculpt cause your belly to become flatter.

Here's a summary of the benefits of EMSculpt:

Now that we have an understanding about the process of fat destruction and muscle buidling, on to some Q and A.

How many EMSculpt treatments will I need?

The EmSculpt studies that were conducted are based on 4-treatments.  We recommend 4 treatments of EMSculpt at Elysium Aesthetics and Vein Care.

Do the EMSculpt treatments hurt?

The contractions do not hurt.  Having experienced the treatment myself, I can honestly say that I laughed throughout the first session.  The involuntary muscle contractions tickled.  Not everyone will get good laugh, however.  For some, the contractions are intense but not painful.

Who is a candidate for the EMSculpt?

Those who will see the most improvement need to have a BMI under 25.  If your BMI high, then EMSculpt is not recommended.  We can certainly help you achieve a more desirable physique through with Sculpsure or Smartlipo ( next blogs).

What should I expect following my EMSculpt treatment:

After the treatment you may experience soreness in your abs or glutes like you had a vigiourous work out.   There is zero downtime.

How long wil the EMSculpt results last:

The increase in muscle tone can be seen by some patients immediately. Others will see the increase in muscle tone and decrease in fat over the next 2 months as the fat cells that are destroyed get removed by your body.
