Botox Paramus

Botox® Cosmetic is a simple, physician administered treatment which involves the injection of purified protein into specific areas to temporarily smooth lines, wrinkles and furrows caused by excessive facial movements. Botox® Cosmetic is the most popular aesthetic treatment in the world today with over 4 million procedures done last year alone. One of the reasons for the treatment’s increasing popularity is the fact that it produces dramatic results in a short period of time.

When administering Botox®, Dr. Singh evaluates patterns of facial muscle movement and looks for moderate to severe facial lines caused by the action of these muscles. The location, size and action of the muscles that create these “dynamic lines” vary among individuals. Dr. Singh marks these locations and administers several tiny injections of Botox® Cosmetic directly into the muscles that cause these dynamic lines. The objective is to create a youthful and more relaxed appearance and NOT a “frozen” or “expressionless” look.

Each area requires a different number of units of Botox® Cosmetic as determined by Dr. Singh. While you may see estimate values on different websites, remember that each treatment is individualized. You can only know the exact volume required by being evaluated by a physician.

The most common area of injection is between the eyebrows where adults frequently develop a furrow. This area responds extremely well. “Crow’s feet” and forehead lines also respond well to BOTOX® Cosmetic. The procedure is quick and it is done in the office with minimal discomfort. Other common areas of treatment include both the eyebrows as well as bunny lines (nose).

Patients will normally see a noticeable difference in their appearance about 2-4 days after treatment with maximum results seen around 2-4 weeks. BOTOX® Cosmetic typically last for 3-6 months. It is important to remember that Botox® Cosmetic is not a permanent treatment and therefore, after your initial treatment, patients are encouraged to come in at 3 months for a follow up appointment to assess when to schedule a follow up treatments. Over time and with regular treatments, patients may see their results last longer and will be able to spread treatments out over a longer period of time.
