SmartLipo at Elysium Aesthetics and Vein Center typically takes 1 to 3 hours depending on the area(s) treated.
Dr. Singh starts by giving you a local anesthetic and infusing tumescent anesthesia to numb the treatment area.
After that, he inserts the low-energy laser into your body through a narrow tube, which then delivers heat signals to the fat cell membranes, causing them to break down. Once broken down, the fat content liquifies, allowing Dr. Singh to extract it with a suction tool.
You might feel some pressure in the treatment area during the procedure but no real pain. Afterward, you might notice some light bruising and swelling, but this will go away.
Dr. Singh recommends you wear a compression garment for a week or more following the procedure. This ensures your body regains full functionality and that you can resume your daily activities in less than 72 hours. The final results may not be apparent for 3-6 months post-operatively.
